For fans of granite and multi-pitch routes, Lofoten is at the top of the list. In the middle of the fjords and in a unique setting, it is the ideal playground for crack climbing on exceptional granite.

Svolværgeita (also known as “The Goat”) is an iconic granite tower located in the heart of Lofoten, in Svolvær. It is not only a symbol but also a premier climbing destination, with multi-pitch routes for beginners and advanced climbers.

  • Pianohandler Lunds Rute: popular four pitch route with easy climbing.

  Difficulty : N4+ / 4c. 100 meters


  • Gandalf or Gollum: classic routes with a very short approach. Perfect for getting used to the climbing style and the Lofoten granite.             

   Difficulty : N5 / 5a. 105 meters


  • Bare blåbær: unmissable climbing and one of the most popular long routes in Lofoten. Seven pitches, plenty of pure crack.

   Difficulty : N5- / 5a. 250 meters


  • Vestpillaren Direct: A must ! Is undoubtedly one of the most famous cliffs in the Lofoten Islands: a majestic 400m granite wall emerging directly from the ocean.

    Difficulty : N6 / 6a+. 460 meters

Henningsvær Rock Climbing

A quiet and superb area beside the sea.  A excellent granite with many routes of one length (25/30 meters). Perfect for an initiation.


Kalle – Paradiset

  • The Rock and Roll Ridge: Perfect for a first contact. An easy way to get started.

     Difficulty : N3 / 2+


  • Vågakallen – The North Ridge: The longest and easiest route in Lofoten with stunning views over most of western Lofoten.

    Difficulty : N4+ / 4c.  500 meters
